Big Apple Contra Band brings high-energy folk, old-time, and original tunes to dance halls across New York City and beyond. Fiddle, guitar, accordion, banjo, and whatever else we can get our hands on.
We play for contra dances, barn dances, weddings, and any event where people want to move their feet and have a good time.

A caller teaches every dance before it starts. Just listen and follow along - you'll be dancing in no time!
No Partner Needed
Come alone or bring friends! You'll dance with everyone in the room as you move down the line.
Live Music
Fiddles, banjos, accordions, and more! Real musicians playing energetic folk tunes all night long.
All Ages Welcome
Kids, seniors, and everyone in between. Contra is a community - we look out for each other.

- *Beginners workshop starts 30 minutes before each dance. Free with admission!
